The Lotus is an Asian lily known for its delicate beauty. It possesses an amazing ability to flourish in a variety of environments and because it rises from unclean water to blossom as a pure, uncontaminated flower, it is primarily a symbol of purity and resurrection.

The Lotus is also a symbol of serenity and peace and represents creative power and purity amid adverse surroundings.

The White Lotus symbolises bodhi, the state of total mental purity and spiritual perfection, and the pacification of our nature. It generally has eight petals corresponding to the Noble Eightfold Path of the Good Law.

Throughout many cultures over time, the White Lotus has been a powerful image and a spiritual symbol. In Hindu, Buddhist and Egyptian cultures, the Lotus is considered a sacred flower.
